Oct 12, 2017 · To use a 96xx phone with the build in VPN is a good option, these phones connect to a IPSec VPN concentator/firewall at the office, not to the Avaya IP Office. The Avaya IP Office cannot handle IPSec VPN connections. Best solution would be to use VPN harware devices on both sites and use 16xx phones. # 3

84-26 is the IP address for DSP resources, a DSP is needed when you convert IP communication (VOIP) to TDM (MLT Phone, Voicemail..) so the IP phones can communicate because they are not using a DSP in HQ or Branch. A wireshark trace would help you find this issue but that can be very time consuming. Hope that helps!! A SIP phone is an IP phone that implements client and server functions of a SIP user agent and provides the traditional call functions of a telephone, such as dial, answer, reject, call hold, and call transfer. Since the router handles the VPN to the corporate server, I can have any SIP phone plugged into my home office router and use it. If you need wireless on the router, Linksys WRVS4400N works great. Wired only, Netgear FVS318 works fine for me. I used to use FVS114, which is smaller and cheaper, but they don't see to make that anymore. This note explains how to make phone calls through over a VPN tunnel. Take the following network for an example: There's a SIP account "777" on Vigor2760's LAN, and another SIP account "555" on Vigor2830's LAN, Vigor2760 and Vigor2830 are connected by a VPN tunnel. Uses OpenVPN but configure so that only VoIP related ports are sent to VPN and the rest to break out from the phone internet connection. SIP normally uses 7060 for establishment, 1719 and 1720 for signalling, after that dynamic ports for media will be assigned by the VoIP (SIP) Server. Configure a SIP client on the Android phone to use your VPN and SIP, and make the SIP client only work over WiFi. You could even remove the SIM cards from the mobile phones, to ensure that only the SIP client is used. Android phones, AFAIK, will still boot and be usable for SIP and WiFi without a SIM card.

Essentially, the phone is it's own network device, you can set the ip, gateway, etc.. but is it possible to go a level deeper and set PPTP auth credentials for our vpn? I am running a modern sip
